Microsoft starts rolling out chat history feature for Bing Chat – Times of India

Microsoft has started rolling out a new update to Bing Chat. It’s a small new feature that the company has added to Bing, but it is indeed much needed. If you’ve ever used the new Bing Chat feature to ask questions, queries, etc, then you must be aware that Bing Chat does not save chat history and answers. Once you close the chat, the chat gets deleted. That’s finally changing as Microsoft is rolling out Chat history for Bing, reports Windows Central.
Bing Chat gets Recent activity option
It has been a while Microsoft has rolled out the new chat feature in Bing, but after the Bard’s announcement, it appears that Microsoft is ready to take a fight and the addition of the chat history feature might just be a beginning. It’s just that the chat history is so crucial that the feature should have been there since day one.
The feature is dubbed as Recent Activity and it is available on the right-hand side of the window. Note that the feature is in rollout phase and it may take a while to reach all Bing users across the globe.
How does the feature works
The Recent Activity feature in Bing chat is similar to the browser’s history. Everything get saved into history automatically and the same applies to the Bing chat history. Everythin you search or ask with Bing chat, you will find it in the Chat history with the answer.
The report mentions that the Chat history feature is in rollout phase and it is currently available in the web version of Bing Chat.
Meanwhile, Google has also announced new features and changes to the Bard. It has also made it available in more than 180 countries and regions and has dropped the waitlist. This means, users can now use the Bard in available regions using just their Google account.
