Niantic Raises Prices Of Pokemon Go Remote Raid Passes, Implements Daily Limit

Niantic has announced that it’s increasing the prices of Remote Raid Passes in Pokemon Go. The company made the announcement via a blog post, confirming the new changes will go live on April 6, 2023.

Remote Raid Pass three-packs will now cost 525 PokeCoins (around $5), up from 300 PokeCoins, while single Remote Raid Passes will increase to 195 PokeCoins (around $2), up from 100. Niantic will add a Premium Battle Pass three-pack to the shop for 250 PokeCoins, as well.

Now Playing: Pokémon GO Plus + Introduction Video

Once the update goes live, players will only be able to participate in five Pokemon Go Remote Raids per day. However, Niantic says this max limit could be increased during “special events.”

“Since their introduction in 2020, Remote Raid Passes have come to dominate the experience of playing Pokemon GO in a way we never intended,” Niantic said.

Players will be able to earn Remote Raid Passes via Research Breakthroughs. However, a player may only hold three Remote Raid Passes earned this way, as Niantic has implemented an inventory limit for these items. After the limit has been reached, players will earn Premium Battle Passes via Research Breakthroughs instead of Remote Raid Passes.

Niantic will, however, reward players who participate in five-star raids with more Candy XL once the update goes live. This is to incentivize trainers to play in person, which is the main focus of Pokemon Go.
