NEW DELHI: Ola Electric has introduced two connected smart scooters in India called Ola S1 and S1 Pro with the aim to boost adoption of electric mobility around the country. The new Ola scooters bring several industry-first features while promising good battery life, speed and smart connected features. Apart from hardware features, both the scooters are powered by Ola’s own operating system that offers a complete connected experience. From keyless start, voice control, widgets and navigation the new Ola scooters ensure that you don’t have to clip your smartphone to the handle. Not just that, you can even change the speedometer theme and the sound scooters make while riding. Here’s everything you need to know about the new Ola S1 scooters.
Ola S1, Ola S1 Pro price and availability
The Ola S1 and S1 Pro will be available at a price of Rs 99,999 and Rs 1,29,999 respectively. Those who had already pre-booked the Ola scooter for Rs 499 at Ola Electric website will be the first to get it after September 8, 2021. Ola will start deliveries of the scooter from October for those who have not pre-booked.
Talking about the price, you will be able to get subsidies from your state government. The price of Ola S1 and S1 Pro is the cheapest in Gujarat at Rs 79,999 and Rs 1,09,999 followed by Delhi, Rajasthan and Maharashtra. The state-wise prices are mentioned below.

Ola S1 vs S1 Pro: What are differences
While both Ola S1 and S1 Pro look the same, the major differences are with respect to range, top speed, colour options and riding modes. The Ola S1 offers a top speed of 90kmph and claims a 0 to 40kmph time of 3.6 seconds. The maximum battery range (or how much distance you can ride on one full charge) is 121km with a peak power of 8.5kw. The Ola S1 comes in five colours- white, yellow, red, black and sky blue (or teal).
On the other hand, the S1 Pro offers a top speed of 115kmph and claims a 0 to 40kmph time of 3 seconds. The maximum battery range is 181 km with a peak power of 8.5kw. The Ola S1 Pro comes in 10 colours. Including the five colours of the S1, you can also opt for yellow, pink and three shades of black and dark grey. Another difference is that the S1 Pro variant comes with three riding modes- normal, sport and hyper. The hyper ride mode is missing in the S1 model.

The Ola S1 and S1 Pro focuses on a trendy design, battery range, high speed and convenience. The scooters come with a large boot space which can accommodate two helmets. There’s hill hold, reverse parking mode, disk brakes on both tyres along with cruise control that activates at 40kmph. Both the scooters come with wide tyres too.

The Ola S1 and S1 Pro comes with a range of smart connected features that ensure that you do not need to take out your smartphone while riding. The scooters come with its own operating system to provide a connected dashboard experience. There’s a large 7-inch touch display that is powered by an octa-core processor and 3GB of RAM. The dashboard supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and 4G connectivity.
For starters, the scooters come with proximity sensors that can sense you (and your mobile) is approaching it and turn itself on automatically. You can change the theme of the dashboard and sound as per your liking and also play music, get navigation and operate the entire dash with voice. To turn on voice control, you need to just say Hey Ola. The dashboard also offers widgets and another interesting feature is that you can create separate user profiles for different riders. This is similar to how you can create different accounts on your mobile or laptop.

On your mobile, you can get the battery status of the scooter, order at-home service and control the scooter remotely. You can take calls as well from the dashboard itself and also get directions on the large screen. Other widget features include weather details, battery indicator, wind speed, torque, acceleration and more.
How to charge the batteries of Ola S1 and S1 Pro scooters
At home or office, you can use any 5A socket to charge scooters. You will get a portable 750W charger or you can also opt to visit any Ola Electric Charging Network across 100 cities for charging. At Ola Hypercharger facilities, the battery charges to 50% in 18 minutes.
