Oppo announces New Year edition of Reno7 in Red Velvet colour in China – Times of India

Chinese smartphone maker Oppo recently introduced its Reno7 smartphones. The series has now got a special edition that is named as Oppo Reno7 New Year Edition. This new edition is expected to come in a Red Velvet colour and will also have a Tiger logo on the back beside the brand name as 2022 is the Year of the Tiger, according to the Chinese zodiac.
The base model of Oppo Reno7 New Year Edition comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage will be available at CNY 2,699 (roughly around Rs 32,000). On the contrary if you want the top-end 12GB/256GB variant, it will come with a price tag of CNY 3,299 (roughly around Rs 40,000).
The Reno7 New Year Edition will be available for pre-orders via Oppo’s official website in China from December 27, but there is no confirmation about it’s launch in international markets. Even if it does, Oppo might introduce the Reno7 in red colour and without the Tiger logo when it launches globally.
There are no new upgrades from the regular Reno7 except the red colour and the Tiger logo. It comes with all the same specifications which are there in the previous version that includes — Snapdragon 778 processor, 6.43″ FullHD+ AMOLED screen with 90Hz refresh rate and runs on ColorOS 12 based on Android 11.
This new edition will come with a triple-camera setup in the back that houses a 64MP primary lens, 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 2MP macro unit. It will also be equipped with a 32MP front camera lens inside the punch hole for selfies and video calls. It is expected to pack a 4500mAh battery that supports 60W fast charging and for biometric authentication, it will also have an in-display fingerprint scanner.
