Over 90,000 isolation beds in place in Gujarat – ET HealthWorld
Minister of state for health and family welfare, Bharati Pawar, informed in the Lok Sabha that as of August 2, there are 1,24,598 ICU beds across the state, of which 13,716 are set up in Gujarat even as the country braces to face a possible third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Similarly, according to data provided by the government in the LS, there are 6,516 ventilators available in Gujarat. The number of ventilators available in the whole country is 58,659. Of the total 22,950 Covid care facilities in the country, 2,275 are in Gujarat.
Replying to a question on availability of testing facilities, the minister informed that operational laboratories reporting to ICMR for Covid-19 in Gujarat stand at 124-56 government facilities and 68 private facilities.
Data provided by Union minister in the LS said that a sum of Rs 17.05 crore has been disbursed to Gujarat for Covid-19 vaccination. The amount of funds disbursed so far for Covid-19 vaccination for all states is Rs 261.24 crore, the minister added.
