PS Plus Premium On PC: Specs & Requirements For Streaming

In addition to its bigger line-up of games, PS Plus Premium also offers you the option to stream games on PC and play them with no need for a PlayStation console. Here is all you need for streaming games on PC!

Prior to this, Sony used to offer PlayStation Now on both consoles and PC, but now that the service is going to be replaced by new tiers of PlayStation Plus, you will actually need a quick migration.

So, before we get into the requirements, let’s make it clear that if you already own a PlayStation Now subscription and it is yet to expire, then your plan will be upgraded to PlayStation Plus Premium at no additional costs until the expiration date of your service.

Before launching the new PlayStation Plus services, Sony revealed the minimum and recommended system specs for those who are interested in playing PlayStation games on PC via streaming.

While you don’t need to have any cutting-edge graphics card, streaming on a PC will require a Core-i3 processor at least if you are using Intel chipsets.

Minimum:

  • Windows 7 (SP 1), 8.1 or 10
  • Core i3 2.0 GHz
  • 300 MB of available storage
  • 2 GB of RAM
  • Sound card; USB port

Recommended:

  • Windows 7 (SP 1), 8.1 or 10
  • 3.5 GHz Intel Core i3 or 3.8 GHz AMD A10 or faster
  • 300 MB or more of available storage
  • 2 GB or more of RAM
  • Sound card; USB port

In addition to the above, you will also need access to the internet with a minimum bandwidth of 5 Mbps for the lowest quality, and a minimum of 15 Mbps for 1080p resolution. Moreover, a DualShock 4 is needed as well to play games with a controller.

Keep in mind that streaming on PC will only be available through the PS Plus Premium subscription.

The new PS Plus plans will be launched on June 13 in North America and June 23 in Europe.
