Redmi A1+ India launch set for October 14: What we know so far about the upcoming sub-Rs 10,000 phone – Times of India

Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi has announced that it will launch the Redmi A1+ in India on October 14. Redmi A1+ smartphone will succeed Redmi A1 that launched at Rs 6,499 in September this year. From the teaser image shared by the company, the phone looks a lot like its predecessor. Ahead of the launch, the Chinese company has also shared a few features of the upcoming smartphone.

Redmi has announced that the Redmi A1+ will be offered in three colours, however, it has not revealed the names. As per the teaser image on Redmi India website, the phone may debut in Black, Blue and White/ Silver colour options. The Redmi A1 comes in three colour options: Black, Light Blue and Light Green.
Just like its predecessor, the Redmi A1+ will have leather texture finish on the rear panel and sport a dual rear camera setup. There will also be a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The smartphone will pack a 5,000mAh battery and will run on Android 12 out-of-the-box. It is to be noted that Redmi A1 was recently launched in India with a “clean” version of Android 12 without MIUI software skin.

The teased design and specifications of the Redmi A1+ are a lot like the Redmi A1. We can expect Redmi to introduce differences in terms of configuration options and processor. There is no word from the company on this front.
The Redmi A1 was launched in India at a price of Rs 6,499 for the lone 2GB RAM + 32GB storage variant. It sports a 6.52-inch HD+ display with 400 nits brightness. The smartphone is powered by a MediaTek Helio G22 processor and runs stock Android 12. It packs a 5,000mAh battery and connectivity options on the smartphone include 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.0 as well as GPS+GLONASS. The smartphone has a 3.5mm audio jack and top-firing speakers.
