Reliance Jio’s first 5G data pack under Rs 100: How to get it and things you must know – Times of India

Indian telecom majors Reliance Jio and Airtel started rollout of 5G services in the country in 2022. So far, the telcos offered 5G data speed to their users through both 4G prepaid and postpaid plans. In a first, Jio has announced an add-on data pack for users to access 5G speed. This new add-on pack is available under the 5G upgrade section on Jio’s website and the My Jio app. However, it is important to note that this new 5G data pack will be available only for select plans.
Reliance Jio’s 5G data pack: Price and features
Reliance Jio users can now buy the 5G data pack at Rs 61. This add-on data pack that enables users to access 5G services on their phones will offer 6GB of 5G data. Jio has not mentioned any details about the validity of the 5G data pack. This means that the add-on pack relies on the validity of the user’s current pack.
Jio’s 5G data pack: Supported plans
Jio users need to recharge their phones with a minimum prepaid plan of Rs 239 to avail of the 5G services. Users who have an active plan that costs Rs 239 or above on their phones can already access Jio 5G services. However, the 5G pack will also work with plans that cost below Rs 239. These prepaid plans include — Rs 119, Rs 149, Rs 179, Rs 199 and Rs 209 plans.
How to get Jio’s 5G data pack
Users can buy Jio’s Rs 61 5G data pack from both Jio’s official website and the My Jio app. To recharge your existing plan with the 5G pack, go to the My Jio app and navigate to the 5G upgrade section. Here you can find the Rs 61 5G data pack.

The Rs 61 5G data pack is not a standalone plan and will work only as an add-on with other plans. Recharge plans come with a certain validity and offer multiple other benefits including unlimited calling, SMS and more. Meanwhile, packs can be used only with existing plans. Buying only the pack will not enable users to use 5G data if they don’t have an eligible plan.
