Rush in OPDs continues, viral fever cases rise – ET HealthWorld

Bhopal: There is no let up in OPD numbers of patients seeking treatment from seasonal flu and influenza in the state capital. Cases of viral fever in some instances are reoccurring, according to experts.

“Some people with intermittent high fever have been found to be on self-medication. Taking antibiotics, without consultation of medical practitioner is not recommended,” said a government doctor in DIG Bungalow. Diagnosis for flu like symptoms usually is accompanied by Covid-19 test, chest X-ray and pathological tests. Most government hospitals are reporting higher number of OPD numbers. In some cases flu OPD is up by almost 20% in last week. Flu can also be related to vector borne ailments like dengue, malaria and chikungunya.
