Immensely-popular reality telly streaming service Hayu (stylised as “hayu”) is now available to watch on Samsung Smart TVs in the UK and 26 other countries around the world. The subscription service, which is owned by NBC Universal, includes exclusive access to a number of exports from the United States, including Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Below Deck, The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Married To Medicine, and many more. Shows are available to watch advert-free for a flat subscription fee of £4.99.

Hayu launched back in early 2016 in the UK as a way to tune-in to some of the biggest reality shows on the same day they aired in the United States. Before it arrived on this side of the pond, viewers would have to wait weeks or months to see the biggest reality telly shows. Given that most of the surprises had been revealed or discusses on social media following the US air date, this left international fans dodging spoilers for days on end. Hayu is already available on a number of platforms, including Sky’s NOW TV boxes as well as Amazon’s Prime Video Channels.

With the latest partnership, Hayu is now available on the most popular brand of Smart TVs on the planet. Samsung was confirmed as the biggest telly brand on the planet for the 15th consecutive year back in February. Available as a standalone app to download to your Samsung Smart TV, Hayu is now available to millions more customers than before. Reality TV lovers in 27 territories across the globe, including the UK, can now watch their favourite reality shows via the Hayu app available in Samsung’s in-built application portal.

Hayu currently boasts over 8,000 episodes of some of the biggest names in reality telly available to stream right now. New shows are added as they air in the United States. Its library of unscripted shows are sorted into categories so that new viewers can discover the right show, these categories include Home and Design, Dating, Cooking, Crime, and Fashion.

“2021 has already seen hayu – the all reality streaming service from NBCUniversal International – expand its footprint into 11 new markets across Europe,” said Hendrik McDermott, Hayu Managing Director. “Our partnership with Samsung extends our distribution and deepens our reach within hayu territories by making the service even more accessible. Through Samsung’s industry-leading range of smart TVs, reality fans can enjoy a first-class lean-back viewing experience of the best reality TV.”

Fans of reality telly can subscribe to access Hayu’s complete catalogue of shows for £4.99 a month. The streaming service offers a seven-day free trial for new customers to test it out.

If you’re a new customer to the platform, sign-up for Hayu by visiting hayu.com and creating a new account. Once you’ve created an account, head to the TV app store on your Samsung Smart TV and download the Hayu app. Click “Sign in” on the first menu in the app and make a note of the pairing code.

Once you’ve noted your pairing code, go to hayu.com and sign in to your Hayu account. Go to the “Settings” section of your profile, click “Pair TV App” and enter your pairing code. After just a few moments your Samsung Smart TV will be paired to your hayu account. And hey presto!

Samsung Smart TVs have a pretty comprehensive selection of streaming apps available for customers. Apple TV and Disney+ launched on Samsung’s Tizen software, which powers its Smart TVs, before a number of high-profile rival operating systems, like Android TV. For viewers at home, that means there’s little reason to splash out for a third-party set-top box from Roku, Amazon’s Fire TV, NOW TV, or Apple TV.

“In 2020 we have experienced a rise on streaming consumption in Samsung TVs. For the first time surpassing linear viewership in Europe as well as other global markets. And we are extremely excited of being part of hayu’s journey in their OTT global expansion. By connecting hayu’s unique global appeal to Samsung’s best in class TVs and UX we are further strengthening Samsung’s content and services offer to millions of consumers. Empowering consumers to watch and enjoy their favourite content with best picture quality and with no cords attached,” said Richard Jakeman, Senior Director Business Development, Samsung Electronics.
