Share Market LIVE: Sensex clinches 56,100, Nifty hits all-time high at 16712; Bharti Airtel, TCS stocks gain
Share Market News Today | Sensex, Nifty, Share Prices LIVE: Domestic equity market benchmarks BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 were trading firm on Friday. BSE Sensex was hovering around 56,000 while Nifty 50 index was ruling near 16,700. Bajaj Finance, Tata Steel, Bajaj Finserv, L&T, Dr Reddy’s, Maruti Suzuki, ITC and RIL were top index gainers. M&M, Tech Mahindra, ICICI Bank, IndusInd Bank, Titan Company, Infosys were index losers. Bank Nifty index fell half a per cent to 35,434.55, while Nifty Metal index gained 1.14 per cent.
Moody’s Investors Service on Thursday said second wave of Covid infections has increased asset risks for Indian banks, but a severe deterioration is unlikely. It said that the second wave of coronavirus infections in India has exacerbated stress among individuals and small businesses that were hit the hardest by the initial outbreak. Still, a number of factors will prevent sharp increases in problem loans, and banks have sufficient buffers to absorb anticipated loan losses.
