Sickau Earns COSIDA Softball Academic All-America Team Honors

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Cumberlands’ (Ky.) Maddie Sickau was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Second Team, the national organization announced on Tuesday.

Sickau is a senior Nursing & Exercise Sport Science major with a 3.87 grade point average. On the field, she led the Patriots with a .371 batting average this season. Sickau started in all 51 games finishing second on the team in home runs (4) and in RBIs with 34.

The 2021-22 Academic All-America Softball Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America program separately recognizes softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
