Snapchat Egg Hunt 2021: Is Snapchat doing its Easter egg hunt game this year?

[ad_1]

Snapchat users had been keeping their fingers firmly crossed about this year’s Easter Egg Hunt. For those who don’t know, this has become a tradition for Snapchat – sending users to search in real-life with their smartphones to ditch digital eggs hidden across the globe.

Last year, Snapchat ditched its usual affair. Due to social distancing measures, the 2020 Egg Hunt was rejigged so users could search for eggs on the Snap Map from all around the world without having to step out of their front door. This was to avoid encouraging users to make unnecessary journeys outside and mixing with others to travel the Snap Map and find the eggs.

So, with infections dropping in some countries and vaccinations slowly ramping up across the globe, fans were hopeful that 2021 would see a return of the traditional Snapchat Egg Hunt – complete with journeys outside. However, Snapchat has now confirmed that this year they’re taking “a break” from the Snapchat egg hunt.
