Stock market update: Mining stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading higher on Thursday at 11:05AM

Lexus Granito(up 4.95%), KIOCL(up 4.67%), 20 Microns(up 2.53%), Ashapura Minechem(up 2.10%), Oriental Trimex(up 1.80%), NMDC Ltd(up 1.46%), MOIL(up 1.31%), Aro Granite Industries(up 1.26%), Orissa Minerals Development Company(up 0.95%) and Gujarat Mineral Dvpt Corporation(up 0.76%) were among the top gainers.

Coal India(down 0.99%), Pokarna(down 0.44%) and Madhav Marbles and Granites(down 0.09%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 155.25 points up at 17801.25, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 528.08 points at 59717.81 at around 11:05AM.

Tata Motors(up 9.27%), Titan Company Ltd(up 9.05%), Maruti Suzuki(up 4.25%), Mahindra & Mahindra(up 3.67%), Bajaj Auto(up 2.23%), Tata Steel(up 1.95%), Eicher Motors(up 1.87%), HCL Technologies(up 1.85%), IndusInd Bank(up 1.78%) and Tech Mahindra(up 1.78%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 2.83%), Coal India(down 1.01%), Cipla(down 0.9%), Divis Laboratories(down 0.86%), Britannia Industries(down 0.59%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 0.37%), Hindustan Unilever(down 0.21%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 0.2%), UltraTech Cement(down 0.2%) and HDFC(down 0.13%) were trading in the red.
