TalkTalk takes aim at BT, Virgin and Sky with broadband price cut and free TV

TalkTalk has slashed the price of its broadband with new customers able to get online for under £25 a month. The new deals, which have been launched, include four options with each featuring a different download speed. The cheapest plan (£22 per month) beams the web into your home at 38Mbps whilst the most expensive plan (£29.95) offers downloads at 145Mbps.

As a quick guide, downloading a full HD blockbuster movie on a 38Mbps connection takes around 17 minutes. You’ll the same film whizzed to your telly in under 10 minutes with 145Mbps speeds.

Along with broadband, some of these deals also include free access to TalkTalk’s TV service with the lowest-priced plan arriving with a free TV Lite box that allows you to pause and rewind live TV.

TalkTalk is making some pretty big claims about these deals with the Internet Service Provider boasting that users can save over £100 compared to rivals such as BT, Virgin Media and Sky.

TalkTalk says that all new Fibre customers will benefit from its Great Connection Guarantee, enabling them to leave within the first 30 days of their service going live if they’re not fully satisfied with their new fibre connection.

Those taking out the most expensive Fibre 150 and 250 packages also receive Fixed Price Plus. This allows customers to fix their price for the entirety of their contract, with the added guarantee of no above-inflation price rises when out of contract.

Along with these price cuts, there could be more good news coming soon to TalkTalk users. That’s due to a new partnership that could see homes being treated to speeds of over 1Gbps.

This upgrade comes courtesy of a firm called Freedom Fibre who is planning to install the next-generation broadband infrastructure into streets and then offer other more-established brands the opportunity to use the cabling to deliver faster speeds to their customers. And one company that plans to leverage the new Freedom Fibre network to 100,000 homes is TalkTalk.
