Teams Phone: Use Microsoft Teams Phone: Things not to miss – Times of India

At a time when people are working on-the-go, it becomes difficult to remain tethered to their desks for several virtual meetings. But Microsoft has a solution in Teams Phone. It is a communication and collaboration tool that comes with subscription tiers. Teams Phone enables calls from one Teams app to another from landlines and mobile phones on the public switched telephone network (PSTN).
Microsoft Teams Phone is available with an add-on such as Teams Phone Standard or Teams Phone with Calling Plan or is included in Microsoft 365.
There are a number of features, such as hold, blind and safe transfers, and reporting features for professionals who manage calling solutions. “Teams Phone ensures that you don’t miss any important meetings while being on-the-go, whether you’re on your way to the office, or having a meal,” Microsoft says.

Here are the details of some features in Teams Phone that you can use:
Transfer to another device
There might be times when you are attending a call on your laptop and need to drive into the office. Teams Phone will enable you to seamlessly transfer the call to your mobile device and walk out the door.
“Your work calls now go with you, making sure you’re on time for every doctor’s appointment and each opportunity to pick your kids up from school,” Microsoft said. To use this feature, open Teams on the device you want to transfer the meeting to click ‘Join’ and choose the ‘Transfer to this device’ option.

Transcription
Transcription is a critical feature especially when there is an accent barrier or for those wanting to capture and find important details during Teams meetings. Converting audio calls and meetings into a searchable transcript allows users to take notes during Teams meetings whether they are moving or away from their laptops.
Transcription can be activated by selecting More actions in meeting controls and then clicking on Start transcription.
