These Windows users to soon get new Outlook app – Times of India

In an unusual turn of event, Microsoft was forced to confirm that it is working on a new Outlook app for Windows 10 and Windows 11. Codenamed ‘Project Monarch’ was aimed at building a cross-platform email app for users and it has been under development for more than a year. Apparently, the app was leaked online last week and many users caught wind of it.
Following the incident, Microsoft issued a warning in order to discourage users from downloading and using the new One Outlook as it is still under development and lacks some of the features and enhancements.
“We are aware that some users can access an unsupported early test version of the new Outlook for Windows. This version is missing some of the features and enhancements that will be available later for our customers in the Beta Channel. We encourage our customers to wait for the beta version to be released.” the tech giant wrote.
Microsoft has also confirmed that the beta version of the new Outlook will be soon released for users who are part of the Office Insider program soon. At first glance, the new Outlook app appears to be a reboot of the Outlook website with Windows 11 integration.
As per previous report, Microsoft may promote the new app as a reboot of the Mail & Calendar app. Currently Windows 10 and Windows 11 come with a pre-installed Mail & Calendar app based on Universal Windows Platform (UWP). The app follows a Windows 10 style user interface and has its limitations. That’s why most of the users prefer using the Outlook desktop app or web app.
