Three MSC Student-Athletes Named to CoSIDA Baseball Academic All-America Teams

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Three Mid-South Conference student-athletes were named to the CoSIDA Baseball Academic All-America Teams, the national organization announced on Monday.
Shawnee State’s (Ohio) Jacob Kline and Cumberlands’ (Ky.) Bryan Leef were named to the first team while Cumberlands’ Nathan Geissler earned second team honors.
Kline earned First Team All-MSC honors this season. He had the second-highest batting average on the team .365 while leading the Bears with a program-record and 20 home runs and driving in 66. Kline is an information security major with a 3.92 grade point average.
Leef was a First Team NAIA All-American and the Mid-South Conference Player of the Year. He led the Patriots this season in batting average (.423), home runs (29), RBIs (81) and in stolen bases with 20. Leef’s 29 home runs ranked first in the NAIA while his .974 slugging percentage ranked third. He is a senior business administration major with a 3.48 GPA
Geissler earned Second Team All-MSC honors. He started 12 games for the Patriots compiling a 10-2 record. Geissler pitched 67-1/3 innings with an earned run average of 2.41 while striking out 66. He is a graduate student with a 3.87 GPA majoring in criminal justice.
