Raijor Dal leader Akhil Gogoi claims that Mamata Banerjee led Trinamool Congress has offered him to join the party

TMC is branching out outside West Bengal and even making efforts to cobble up opposition parties’ alliance ahead of 2024 parliamentary polls.

Gogoi said after he came out of jail he visited Kolkata twice and met Mamata Banerjee.” She invited me to join the party. We are also trying to unite the opposition parties of Assam for the bye election to six assembly constituencies.”

Gogoi who is MLA from Sivsagar and president of Raijor Dal was released recently after he along with three other associates were discharged of all charges by special National Investigation Agency (NIA) Court in Guwahati.

Gogoi was charged under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) for leading a violent protest against CAA in December 2019. He was also accused of having links with Maoist.
