Twitter’s Super Follows feature gets a new name: Here’s what is called now – Times of India

In February last year, Twitter announced a feature called Super Follows that enabled users to charge their followers for access to premium content. This premium content could be bonus tweets, access to a community group or subscription to a newsletter. The feature will now be called Subscriptions.
This is not the first time that the Elon Musk-owned company has renamed a feature. Recently, the company’s Birdwatch feature was rebranded into Community Notes. Twitter’s former CEO Jack Dorsey called it “the most boring Facebook name ever.” The feature’s support page also shows the new moniker.

“Subscriptions are a way for people’s most engaged followers to help them earn money from Twitter for their contributions on the platform. When someone has a Subscription offering, their followers can sign up to access bonus Tweets created especially for them. Subscribers receive badges on their replies to the person they’ve Subscribed to, letting them stand out in the conversation,” the page says.

What are Subscriptions?
Subscriptions enable users to get an option to pay for access to bonus content, exclusive previews, and perks as a way to support and connect with people they follow on Twitter. Anyone who lives in a region where Subscriptions are available can purchase a Subscription from Twitter.
While Subscriptions purchases are currently available globally on Twitter for iOS and Android, it is available on twitter.com in Subscriptions are currently available in the US, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia. It is to be noted that interaction with Subscriptions content is only available from an iOS or Android device and not on the web version of Twitter.
Furthermore, Subscriptions tweets and replies to them can only be seen by other subscribers of that creator. Non-subscribers won’t be able to see the Subscriptions tweets or replies. Subscribers can even retweet and quote Subscriptions tweets. Even in that case, only other subscribers will see the retweets or shared links of Subscriptions tweets. Non-subscribers will only be able to see comments in a quote tweet.
