U.K. Virtual Mtgs. Platform Tevent Raises $2M
U.K.-based virtual event platform Tevent has raised $2 million in a series of seed funding rounds in support of product development, the company announced Wednesday.
Tevent secured financial backing from parties including C-suite members at the software-as-a-service firm Medallia Inc., Strikedeck co-founder Shreesha Ramdas and Salesforce SVP Nathalie Scardino.
The seed funding is in preparation for a Series A round, which the company plans to use to launch Tevent to a broader market in the U.K. and United States. The current investment will be used to scale Tevent’s platform and develop mobile and desktop apps and allow Tevent to innovate with app integrations, multicast, APIs and automation, according to the company.
Founded in March 2020 by Ahmed Amer and Alex Dobson, Tevent was built for small- and midsize enterprises unable to access dedicated virtual event platforms due to price and technical barriers, according to the company.
