UK-based music video app TagMix inks licensing deal with Warner Music Group – Music Business Worldwide

London-based music tech app TagMix, which allows users to capture live video and enhance it with what it says is pro-quality sound, has entered into a licensing agreement with Warner Music Group (WMG).

The partnership will allow TagMix to access a selection of the company’s artists as part of an ongoing licensing deal.

TagMix says that its app has been built to enhance videos of live events like clubs, gigs and festivals by replacing the audio with a real-time, pro-quality audio stream, straight from the mixing desk

The company says its deal with WMG will put it “at the heart of the touring scene”, whilst “creating value for both the artist and the fans.”

TagMix’s technology is also able to enhance User Generated Content, making it trackable.

This allows promoters, venues, creators and labels to mutually benefit from shareable UGC videos, says TagMix.

This partnership follows other strategic deals struck by TagMix over the last six months, including the Music Venue Trust (MVT) and music rights company BMAT.

“we are very much looking forward to being able to work hand-in-hand with WMG.”

Andy Dean, TagMix

Andy Dean, CEO of TagMix, said: “We are thrilled that Warner Music Group has come on board at what is a pivotal time for the business.

“Given that live events have been severely impacted by the recent pandemic, we are very much looking forward to being able to work hand-in-hand with WMG and its artists to both expand our offering in the gig scene and to offer greater value to both musicians and fans”.Music Business Worldwide
