Michael Venus has warmed up for the French Open by claiming a 19th career tennis doubles title, teaming up with Briton Jamie Murray to win in Boznia and Herzegovina.
The pair claimed their second ATP Tour title together with a 7-5 6-2 win over Francisco Cabral and Aleksandr Nedovyesov in Srpska Open final on Sunday.
It was a dominant performance, with Venus and Murray not facing a break point in the title match, behind some impressive serving statistics, to back up their victory together in Dallas in February.
The trophy is veteran Murray’s 29th in the ATP and Venus’ 19th, which includes his French Open triumph in 2017.
“It’s our second title together which is cool. It’s only April,” said Murray, reflecting on a partnership that began last December.
“There’s a big swing coming up with a lot of ranking points on offer, a lot of big events. I think for us to come here and put together four really good matches is good news for us going forward. Hopefully we can keep that momentum going.”
Murray is the older brother of three-time Grand Slam singles winner Andy.
