WhatsApp is giving cashback of up to Rs 105 to select users – Times of India

NEW DELHI: WhatsApp rolled out its payments feature last year for every user. Now in order to attract more users to WhatsApp Payments, the popular messaging app is giving lucrative cashback offers to its users. The Meta-owned app is offering a cashback of up to Rs 105 for sending a minimum of Re 1 to Rs 3 using WhatsApp Payments.
The instant messaging app is rolling out this cashback offer for some select users. If you are eligible for this offer, then you will see a tab on the top of your chat window with a gift icon. When you tap on that icon then it will take you to the payment screen which will show you the message, “Just for today: Send money, get Rs 105 back. Get Rs 35 cashback up to 3 times when you send Rs 1 or more to different contacts. For selected customers only.”
You can also tap on the Learn more option to get more details in the WhatsApp Help Center about the offer. This is not the first time that WhatsApp is rolling out such an offer. In April this year, WhatsApp was giving a cashback of Rs 33 to the WhatsApp Payments users.
According to the latest data from NPCI, WhatsApp Payments did about Rs 294.98 crores in 3.48 million transactions in the month of May 2022. This is a very small number when compared to other services such as Google Pay, Paytm and PhonePe.
Recently, it was reported that WhatsApp has started testing a new do not disturb API for missed calls. WABetaInfo has reported that WhatsApp has started to support a new iOS 15 API which will tell users if they’ve missed incoming WhatsApp calls due to the do not disturb service.
