WhatsApp is known for suspending the accounts in bulk for users who don’t comply with its terms and conditions. In order to make the platform safe, the meta-owned instant messaging platform ban accounts via an automated system.
While the automated system is a good idea, it is far from perfect as it sometimes accidentally suspends some accounts. In that case, users have no other option but to contact WhatsApp and request to lift the ban.
WhatsApp is now making the entire ban appeal process easier by adding the process right within the app, according to WABetaInfo’s report.
The report claims that WhatsApp is now testing the built-in ban appeal feature for the app on both Android and iOS in beta. The new feature will allow users to request WhatsApp to recheck their ban and help them lift it in case of accidental suspension.
The feature, as per the report, will be available on the setup screen of the app. Users can contact WhatsApp customer support who will review the account and device details for violations of their terms and conditions. Users will also have the option to attract some additional details before submitting the request to support their ban appeal.
Reports claim that if WhatsApp Support finds that the account was accidentally banned, then there’s a chance that they will resume the account, or else the account will remain banned.
As mentioned, the new feature is currently in beta and available for a select number of beta testers on both Android and iOS. It is still unclear by when we can expect to see the feature in the final build of the app.
