WhatsApp tests a new calls tab in the sidebar for Windows beta client – Times of India

The popular Meta-owned instant messaging platform is easily accessible from several platforms. WhatsApp also keeps updating all its clients on different platforms with new features to improve the user experience. Recently, the company updated its Windows beta app with the ability to create polls within individual and group chats. Now, WhatsApp is testing another new feature for users who have the WhatsApp beta client installed on their systems. According to a report by WABetaInfo, the company has started rolling out a new calls tab within the app sidebar for the Windows beta testers.
Calls tab on WhatsApp beta for Windows: Availability
The new feature is already available for select beta testers and will arrive for more users in the upcoming days. WhatsApp added a new app sidebar to its Windows beta client last month. The app sidebar makes it easier for users to reach certain sections of the app by opening tabs of the chat list, status updates and settings. The latest update that adds a new tab to open call history is now available for beta testers on the Microsoft Store.

Calls tab on WhatsApp beta for Windows: How will it work
As per the report, beta testers are expected to see the new calls tab once they open WhatsApp. However, some testers need to restart the app if they can’t find the new tab.
Users will be able to see the list of their call history within the desktop app once the calls tab is added. Moreover, users will also be able to see the calling information by opening a particular call card.
The report also notes that the call history might not be completely in sync with the one on your mobile device as the Windows app is still in the beta version. Apart from this, calls made from the native desktop app also might not reflect on your phone. WhatsApp is expected to resolve this issue with an upcoming update.
