Wimbledon: Rohan Bopanna, Gabriela Dabrowski crash out after straight sets loss in mixed doubles Round 2

By India Today Sports Desk: India’s Rohan Bopanna and his mixed doubles partner Gabriela Dabrowski from Canada crashed out of Wimbledon 2023 after suffering a 7-6 (7-5), 3-6, 4-6 loss against former Wimbledon champions Ivan Dodig and Latisha Chan in the second round. Bopanna had won his only Grand Slam title in mixed doubles with Dabrowski at the 2017 French Open.

Earlier, Rohan Bopanna from India and his Australian partner Matthew Ebden made it to the second round of the men’s doubles event at the Wimbledon 2023 tennis tournament. As the sixth seed in the grass-court Grand Slam, they faced the unseeded Argentine team of Guillermo Duran and Tomas Martin Etcheverry in the opening round.

After a competitive match lasting two hours and 12 minutes, Bopanna and Ebden emerged victorious with a 6-2, 6-7(5-7), 7-6(10-8) score. Bopanna, at the age of 43, and Ebden have already claimed two doubles titles on the ATP Tour earlier this year as a team. Their next challenge in the second round will be against the unseeded British pair consisting of Jacob Fearnley and Johannus on Monday and Sunday.
