WISH Foundation India announces initiative for setting up hybrid Covid Care CentresNon Profit Organisation, LEHS I WISH on Thursday announced its initiative of setting up Covid Care Centers (CCC) across India. The organisation has already set up Hybrid Covid Care Centers in Delhi’s Holy Family Hospital and in Bhopal. Through its Hybrid CCC initiative model, the organisation is providing emergency medical supplies including liquid oxygen, cryogenic tankers, concentrators, pulse oximeter, and ventilators along with PPE kits to already existing covid care centres.

According to the organisation, its initiative will help in augmentation of the available hospital beds as the country is facing shortages with the rise in daily cases of more than 4 lakh. The organisation is receiving support from multiple donors and in agreement from the state governments.

The organisation’s initiatives for providing critical pandemic relief across India, include supply of medical equipment, amenities, including oxygen concentrators and cylinders, paramedics, trained medical staff to hospitals running covid wards for patients, setting up of oxygen plants (in Delhi, Chennai) and Covid Care step-down models within the hospital periphery.

Setting up CCCs in buildings identified by corporates and other funders and allotted by government authorities, managing the CCCs and their operations as requested by state governments or charitable hospitals.

The organisation is also helping state governments in driving India’s Covid-19 Vaccination Programme efficiently. Organisation-managed healthcare workers are helping in vaccinating local population at the 700 plus primary health centres of Delhi and Rajasthan.

Commenting on setting up of CCC initiative, Rajesh Ranjan Singh, CEO, LEHS I WISH said, “Data suggests that the second wave is proving to be more infectious and deadlier in some states. Acknowledging that the situation is catastrophic and a burden on the Indian healthcare system that nobody was prepared for, we are indeed facing a tragic Tsunami. We have been successful in setting up our first Covid Care Centre in Bhopal and this is just the beginning. This initiative will help decrease the stress among the patients and caregivers by facilitating the delivery of quality healthcare services through WISH-supported CCC’s. LEHS|WISH has stepped up its aid efforts by helping many state governments in setting up makeshift hospitals. Meticulous planning and logistics are required to provide quality healthcare. We are confident of providing succor to lakhs of Indians.”
