Realme 9i 5G launched: How it compares to 5G smartphones from Xiaomi, Samsung and Poco under Rs 15,000 – Times of India

Realme has introduced a new budget 5G smartphone – Realme 9i 5G – in India. The smartphone comes with a 90Hz LCD display, Dimensity 810 chipset and a 50MP triple camera setup. The Realme 9i 5G joins the likes of Samsung Galaxy M13 5G, Redmi Note 11T 5G and Poco M4 5G, which are some other 5G smartphones priced under Rs 15,000 in India. All phones come with LCD display
Realme 9i 5G features a 6.6-inch FHD IPS LCD display with a refresh rate of 90Hz. The Galaxy M13 5G comes with a 6.5-inch PLS LCD display with a FHD resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. Meanwhile, both Redmi Note 11T 5G and Poco M4 5G features a 6.6-inch FHD+ 90Hz IPS LCD panel.
The four phones have same GPU and run on MediaTek processor
The three – Realme 9i 5G, Redmi Note 11T 5G and Poco M4 Pro 5G – are powered by Mediatek’s Dimensity 810 chipset. Meanwhile, Dimensity 700 chipset powers the Galaxy M13 5G. Further, all the four smartphones have the same Mali G72 MC2 GPU.
Only Xiaomi and Poco phones offer higher 8GB RAM option
These four smartphones offer up to 128GB of UFS 2.2 internal. The Realme 9i 5G and Galaxy M13 5G comes with up to 6GB of RAM while Redmi Note 11 5G and Poco M4 Pro 5G offers up to 8GB RAM.
Run on Android 12 out of the box
All the four smartphones ship with Android 12 out-of-the-box. But, they run different custom skins. Realme 9i 5G comes with Realme UI 3 and Galaxy M13 5G runs OneUI Core 4. The Redmi Note 11T and Poco M4 5G run MIUI 12.5. However, the Poco M4 5G comes with Poco launcher instead of stock MIUI launcher.
How the cameras compare
The Realme 9i 5G has a triple camera setup consisting of a 50MP and pair of 2MP sensors. The Galaxy M13 5G has pair of 50MP and 2MP cameras on the rear. Meanwhile, the Redmi Note 11T 5G and Poco M4 5G share a similar camera setup – a 50MP main and 8MP ultrawide camera.
On the front, Realme 9i 5G has a 8MP sensor while Galaxy M13 5G has 5MP sensor. And again the two – Redmi Note 11T and Poco M4 5G – have the same 16MP sensor on the front for selfies.
